Accessibility Statement

Effective date: 12 June 2025

At Unitely, we believe accessibility isn’t a feature – it’s a foundation.

We’re building a community for people with chronic illness, disability, and neurodivergence – and that means designing everything with flexibility, safety, and dignity in mind.

What we’re doing

  • Our website uses accessible fonts, clear layouts, and high-contrast colours

  • We aim to make all digital content screen-reader friendly and mobile responsive

  • Our videos include captions and/or transcripts wherever possible

  • We prioritise plain English, shorter formats, and downloadable versions

  • We keep our content and community flexible, trauma-informed, and consent-led

  • Our policies include a "sick clause" – if you can’t access content due to illness, we’ll pause or refund your subscription, no questions asked

Our online community

We’ve chosen to host the Unitely community on Circle, a platform that currently meets the highest accessibility standards we’ve found among available community platforms.

While we acknowledge it’s not perfect, Circle provides some screen reader compatibility, mobile access, keyboard navigation, and flexible content formatting. It allows us to offer the best accessible experience possible – until such time that we’re able to build a fully custom platform to meet a wider range of access needs.

If you experience issues using the platform, we want to hear about it and will do our best to support or offer alternatives.

Alternative formats and support

If you need any of our content in a more accessible format – such as large print, audio, Easy Read, or PDF – please reach out. We’re happy to provide it.

If you’re part of our paid program and are unable to use the content due to illness or disability-related reasons, just email us – we’ll pause or refund your membership with no fuss.

Feedback and contact

We’re not here to tick boxes – we’re here to listen, learn, and adjust.

If you experience any accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, we genuinely want to hear them.

Access is a process – and we’re committed to building with you, not just for you.

Let me know if you’d like an Easy Read version, a downloadable PDF, or a shorter version to use as a footer link across your site or inside Circle.

I would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which I live and work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. I pay my deepest respects to their Elders, past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

I also honour my ancestors the Dharawal people of Yuin nation, whose rich cultural heritage and connection to Country continue to inspire and guide me on this land today.

I acknowledge the enduring connection of the Wurundjeri people and Yuin people to this land, its waterways, and skies, and I recognise their ongoing care for and custodianship of this Country for tens of thousands of years.

This land was, is, and always will be Aboriginal land.
